BABY
STEPS is a voluntary, primary prevention home visiting program that
provides intensive home visiting services to new and expectant parents
and their families who reside in Central Harlem. It is a Healthy
Families America (HFA) program funded by New York State Office of
Children and Family Services (OCFS). The goal of this program is
to prevent child abuse and neglect through the promotion of child
health and development, positive parent-child interaction and family
self-sufficiency. Intensive home visiting services are provided
to families who are pregnant or have a baby under three months old
and live in zip codes 10026, 10027, 10030, 10037, and 10039. Services
are provided until the child enters Head Start or reaches 5 years
of age. |
